Programming help

I need some advice, I've just bought a JVC HDD camera, and in order to get the files into a format i can work with, i need to run this set of commands

transcode -i MyFilm.MOD -o MyFilm.avi -y xvid -Z 720x540
ffmpeg -threads 2 -i MyFilm.avi -s pal -r pal -aspect 4:3 -ac 2 -ar 48000 -y MyFilm.dv

I guess i have 2 variables an input file and an output file... and two apps..

What i would like some help with is writing a simple Gui which allows me to choose a file, and determin the output file..

I have NO programming experience, except for a bit of Bash and perl knowledge..

I'd like this to be in a gui..

What would be the best app to use to achive this? on KDE?

Well python would probably be the easiest imo to pick up, its fairly simple to use once you know the basics and know where to find the functions you need. as for a gui interface glade would probably be the best as its easy to make a gui (again once you know the basics). Then you just need to mash the two together, which ive no idea what the code would look like because ive never used glade/gtk with python.

Of couce an even easier way would be to put those two lines into a bash file and have it take in the name of the file your want to convert and let it do the rest, though its a little restrictive.
