Gnome Slower then KDE?

after installing Sabayon i booted into the Gnome session and it seemed to load alot slower then KDE

i installed the 3.2 release in the past

so whats the deal is it Gnome or is it my PC?

specs
1.5GH/z
512MB RAM
Geforce FX 5500 256MB
Gigadelic IIDX

It shouldn't

running 2.18 here and loads faster than kde

If you just logged out of KDE and into Gnome for the first time, Gnome would probably load slower since KDE was already in RAM. Just do a little experiment: reboot your computer, and log in to KDE. Wait for your desktop to fully load, and then log out. Log back in to KDE. It should be much faster the second time.

well i was booted into KDE tho the LiveDVD

after installing i booted right into Gnome

and it seems now that im in KDE it seems super fast unlike Gnome

also another prob i had in Gnome "Log Out" will just lock up the system for a good 3 to 5 mins

emerge --sync && layman -S

emerge -u gnome
