OK now you have me intrigued. Never really knew what the POD signifies, nor cared to be honest, but now I have to ask

Apprently pod is a reference to a prison cell which is a reference to the security on the CD edition, Im not 100% sure on this however

But the 3.5 Pod == 3.5 Mini (CD) edition, it has xfce, compiz, drivers etc
Its on the mirrors maybe you should check it out?

Actually I installed it off the disk mentioned.
I quite liked the look of xfce and chose Sabayon over the other distros.
Manged to get it all installed and working (save a weird sound quirk) and add a few apps I wanted with only one trip to the command line.

Really impressed with it so far.

I want to note that for people with Ati cards it might be a problem to get the live desktop loaded.

If you are at the CD boot screen press F5 to edit the boot line and add xdriver=vesa to it.
This way X will load normally and you will be able to install it in a normal way.

After install its pretty simple to get the ati-drivers up and running.
