Number of SL users

Post by Fitzcarraldo » Wed Jul 30, 2008 21:23

According to the September issue of Linux Format magazine, the following are some rough figures for the number of users of some distros, based on numbers "from the distros* and other sources".

Ubuntu*..........4 to 6 million users
Mandriva*......."a few million"
Fedora...........2 million
openSUSE*.......1.5 million
Xandros..........1.1 million
Debian...........1 million
Slackware........500,000
Sabayon*.........15,000

I suppose the Xandros figures have been boosted by the Asus Eee PC sales.

So it seems we SL users are few and far between. Makes me feel rather special!
