windows file movers?

Post by xlnagla » Mon May 19, 2008 4:56

Hello all,

I'm trying to steal more space from my XP install, and after defragging, a bunch of "moveable" files still linger at the end of the partition - anybody know a good tool for shoving all the files at one end?

Autodesk inventor 2008. Only thing which keeps my windows around. a 7-year old version is the best I can get with wine, and that honestly won't do. However, if you know of an accurate 3d-CAD program for Linux that's autodesk compatible I can ditch windows entirely.

Hi X
Always backup and then get a copy of "acronis disk director suite" as this does a safe resize and a lot of other stuff that you might need from inside windows or during reboot.

thanks WarraWarra, 'tis what I needed to know - never actually bothered with re-sizing windows before... amazing the things which slip through the cracks of knowledge.

The Gparted LiveCD might help you with your problems compacting the trash.
