I did not even know this post is here if it was not for the new forum changes and I wanted to get SL art to mod for a new Icon / avatar ?
I have lots of time and patience but request 1 thing plz O plz add i8k.o or actual working module for i8k to 3.4 if possible.

No i8k module = no working nvidia 7800gtx fan on Dell E1705 laptop = have to virtualize SL on pclinux. Dellfand locks up after a while and only for left cpu fan.
Only works to force load in pclinux then both fans + gkrellm works.

Shout if I can help.

Though I haven't posted much on this board, I've been following Sabayon since early RR days, but have been intensively running it since Sabayon 3.1...I'm a Computer Engineer student so I have my fair share of knowledge though not much experience in this beta testing situations.

I may not be the best there is, not close at that, but I think I can help the team by testing this interesting OS :)

Hello, I'm totally interested in becoming a beta tester!! I can't believe it! I never saw this page until today!! Maybe this page should be posted in a more eye catching area or even posted in the news.

By active do you mean I need to know programming?? Can U be more specific in what the qualifications are? I'd love nothing more than to help Sabayon any way I can, but Unfortunately, I don't know programming yet. I can report bugs, give logs, and say when something isn't working and what my opinion is on what it could be. I'm am sorry if this seems a little late. I didn't even know this sticky post existed until now. I know I'm not of much help but my specs and hardware could be useful to test on.

Hi ! I was just reading the forum subjects when I saw this one.
By the way it's already to late to beta-test the incoming 3.4 release, but I guess beta-testers are always needed. I don't have experience in beta-testing Linux Distribution releases, but I used to beta-test lots of games before, reporting bugs, trying to know where exactly is the problem, and try to give some ideas to solve it. Now that I don't test games anymore, I have time to spend to do... something.

I've discovered SL and I LOVE IT ! (I also use Gentoo & Ubuntu) I wonder if I could help in (future) best-tests.

I don't really know what to answer to that kind of questions...
I'm using Linux for about one year, beginning with Ubuntu & Fedora, and Gentoo 6 months from now approximatively.
I can't say that my skills are "very good" (maybe just "experimented") but, being used to search solutions to my problems by myself, adapting answers found on forums, bugzilla etc... made me discovered and learn many things, and that helps me everyday.

(Sorry if I don't speak english very well, French is my native language !)

Sign me up please! I've been using SL for about a year and other distros before that. I've contributed a little on the bugzilla, lxnay should know more or less how good or bad my SL knowledge is.

Please sign me up! I'm not sure how much time I have at the moment, but once school starts (and this job ends) I'll probably have plenty of time.

A little background:

I started using Linux when I inherited a laptop with broken power management features (BIOS issue) that Windows phailed on. From my first experiences with Linux, I got used to working with (and around) a broken system. I have a few years of experience with Linux, I've been with Sabayon 3.0RC2, and I've gotten some straight Gentoo experience over the last few months.

I also have some minimal (but solid, I think) experience with programming/debugging and technical documentation (in Java).

I love the passion Fabio (and the other devs!) have for the Sabayon project, and I appreciate the strong Gentoo foundation (not to be confused with the Gentoo Foundation!), but I have a few minor technical complaints about it. Naturally, then, I've been interested in becoming a developer for a while now, but I don't think I have the experience or knowledge to contribute what I really want to with the project. I think that working as a beta tester would be a great way to familiarize myself with Sabayon, and after a year or more, I would absolutely love to jump onboard as a full developer if you're willing to give me a chance.

Thank you very much!
