Personaly, I would like to see PeaZip archive manager installed. It's very nice tool. Here is the URL for more info: http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/PeaZip?content=52805&PHPSESSID=cfb36a3f849e53d78be3ed0dcaddcb97

I would like to see NVU ( http://www.nvu.com ) included. The version in portage doesn't work!

Hi darkscot

NVU doesn't work properly at the best of times;) You should try Kompozer here http://kompozer.net/ It's a bug fix version of nvu 1.0 and until the next version of nvu comes out (which so far looks like forever) this is the best you'll get.
btw: the tar.gz file doesn't need to be compiled. It has a binary file called kompozer which you can just run. I have mine running on 64-bit SL.

All the best

how does Kompozer/Nvu compare to quanta-plus, or are they differently focussed altogether?

Hi

I think it depends on what you are looking for in an editor. I chose kompozer because it lets me edit html files directly on the web server (kind of, it actually downloaded the page then uploads it again when you click publish/save). Kompozer (nvu) makes it easy to edit html tables too. It is also easier to look at the source or html preview like in dreamweaver than Quanta.

I think or more advanced stuff like scripting you would probably want quanta, although I haven't used quanta enough to know.

Only problem with kompozer/nvu is that it hasn't been updated in years (and it's owned by Linspire I think). nvu 2 or composer 2 as it's known is being developed by this guy http://www.glazman.org/weblog/dotclear/index.php?Nvu as part of the mozilla seamonkey suite. It seems to be taking a life time though to develop it and I can't seem to find any nightly builds. :(

Cheers

Dave

changed the request section at bottom of first post from Beryl 0.2.1 to Compiz 0.4 seeing as they have re-merged to use the compiz core.

I'd like to see xmltv included with all of the perl dependencies resolved so it has ALL of the grabbers. It's a pain in the a** to have to go through the install process the first time to find out what's missing, manually search for and install the necessary perl packages, and re-emerge xmltv just to get tv_grab_na_dd. Then a new version comes along and I have to go through it all over again.

I liked Sabayon until it switched to Rigo and becoming the gentoo equivalent of Ubuntu. Extreme browsing? Extreme gaming? Extreme work? Extreme development? Like, totally gnarly, dude!
