Please no. When it will be merged into vanilla, will be back in.
It caused a lot of QA issues to us in the past... I mean, seriously, do not use it yet. Trust me.

What kind of issues? I've tried searching in forums here and on Gentoo and the posts seem to be lacking in the details. So what kind of issues are you warning me about to avoid? I was going to try it today.

How about putting ext4 in instead? Now supporting extents. Or is that included in the new kernel for the next release? Last I remember, it was put by Morton into his 2.6.19rc1, isn't it?
