Sabayon 3.3 One step forward, two steps back!?

Post by thedevilsjester » Sun Mar 18, 2007 21:09

When I installed 3.26, I was pleasently suprised, it was the ONLY distribution to get my resolution right! (I even posted so in the forums!)

However 3.3 seems to have gone a step backward and no longer allows or detects my resolution.

What happened Sabayon?

did you try the res=1024x768 cheat code? With my widescreen I always have to tell it res=1440x900

No I havent yet but that wasnt the point of the post, I can figure out how to fix it, the point was that it works Out Of The Box in 3.26 and not at all in 3.3.

This was one of the big advertising points I used when converting people to Sabayon. Please fix this!

Just like your sig says, "It Just Works", but in the new version, it doesnt just work anymore (atleast as far as Res goes)

Yeah along these lines I strongly suggest adding a program like this to the next version of sabayon. Most of the time the user himself knows the resolution he wants.

I had good results with it in this thread.
