Cinnamon Edition...

Postby Johnny Who » Mon Jan 21, 2013 17:08

Sounds to ...Minty? But I think that the inclusion of a cinnamon spin would be a great idea, as cinammon is a really appealing desktop environment...

I agree!
Cinnamon is the only (in my opinion) user friendly DE with GTK 3

4 GB DDR3 1600 Mhz
Nvidia Geforce 9800 GT
Sabayon Linux x64 KDE Limbo

Wrong thread. This belongs in the Molecule section and not in Artwork. I'll ask for moving.

It's opensource. You can create a custom ISO on your own ;)

Technically the Molecule section's purpose is reporting issues with the already existing spins or daily isos, or with the molecule tool itself, while this forum section is about artwork or development suggestions, as noted in the section link:
Discuss all artwork and development - Suggestions needed

So this topic fits this forum section perfectly. :)

I get the original poster is asking for a Sabayon supported Cinnamon spin (I remember it was once suggested to turn the GNOME 3 iso to Cinnamon), rather than creating a custom spin.
But the suggestion is still valid, you could create your own spin with molecule as Ryuno-ki suggested, or maybe you could create it and ask the development team to host it.

I know about molecule... I am just talking for the addition of an officially maintained spin. And I do not think that ditching gnome for cinnamon completely is worth it... Gnome 3 is nice, too, and appart from fedora, we are one of the best distros supporting it officially. IMHO, we should stick to it...

Who is "we"?
Look, if nobody feels responsible for it, then there will be no Cinnamon Spin/Edition.
So if you want people to enjoy it natively, engage. I guess, lxnay and the others will appreciate it.
