x high cpu usage

since upgrading to kde 4.4.0 - final was on the rc

X has started to use anywhere from 5 - 49% of my cpu and the responsiveness of my desktop is goneburgers

anyone know why?
One theory is 3D effects causing problems with X

I'm using the ext4 filesystem, currently having a little trouble, I keep removing important drivers so it doesn't boot :P
and managed to almost hose my system because i didn't make it a local version - lesson learned :P

should have it up and running ether tonight or tomorrow.

I'm not worried about it merging, it was made or perhaps finished last year, It holds on to the idea that having a optimized scheduler for Desktop pcs is a good idea even if it can't scale, it works better for low powered devices and slow pcs and computers with less than 20 odd cpus. Note: On Windows, changing process scheduling is easier and more effective. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308417 - so not the same thing.
