phzi, sorry to say, but moab is correct. Suggestions ARE opinions, some may agree, others may not. Suggestions aren't always right, but not always wrong. They are for IDEAL improvement. As you know everyone has their own IDEALs of what is perfect and what is not. If I were wrong about this, then th...

That makes sense. Just browse thru the boot options in the bios, there will be something related - and personally, I always remove the floppy boot option, since I don't have one (and disable it in the bios (usually first page)).

You can find new k-menu button images on kde-look.org, or elsewhere.

The images are located at: /usr/kde/3.5/share/apps/kicker/pics/
kmenu_basic.mng
kmenu_flipped.mng
kmenu_vertical.mng

Best of luck.

Looks like something funny is going on with hald - the daemon for Hardware Abstraction Layer. Try running hald from the command line to see the output.

I doubt this has anything to do with your video card.

Re: KDE newbie

I hope I'll not be very offtopic. How can I place the trash icon from the bottom right corner of the panel on the desktop. I have managed to make a link, but the icon is the same no matter if the bin is empty or full (it's got full functionality though). p.s. I understand (and have seen personally)...

Your MBR problem definitely sounds odd. Update your BIOS maybe? FixBoot/FixMBR should destroy grub and make windows boot, so if Windows isn't booting after that, you're windows install must be completely messed. To do a fresh start, you can use gparted (a GUI for fdisk/mkfs), or terminal apps to del...

Worth a shot, does removing 'dodmraid' from the boot kernel params solve this? I know sabayon livedvd can't recognize my 'real' ICH9 controller with that option on (although it can recognize the jbmicron controller - I'm lucky I had two different sata controllers on one motherboard lol).
