Commands actuated perfectly. However without my polkit rule posted aboved I am denied access to the partitions. "Not Authorized" If I place the rule back in /etc/polkit-1/rules.d then all works perfectly again. Also I will still get this response from systemd bobs-sl410 sqlpython # systemctl -a Fail...

Ok Good, Andy gave you the printer package for your Brother Printer which I was Unaware of. (an HP man here)

Regarding the Grub update.. Very easy just boot liveCD and follow to Grub Choice and choose repair Not New Install.. All will work auto Magicallly for you. and then exit the LiveCD.

On my machines works both with systemd or init daemon setup.. So I don't know that systemd would be a solution just an also ran.

Look in your GNome setting Manager at the Power Manager. I haven't use GNome in some time but in using the Setting Managers in Xfce or KDE there is a Power Manager selecton.
