Re: KDE User Bar corrupt

You were correct to immediately switch to KDM. I have installed KDE off and on for about 15 years.
I can remember only KDM being the only default with all distros that I have tried. This particular install seems to have lightDM.
I believe I will follow your lead and switch to KDM also... thank you

Re: KDE User Bar corrupt

I believe that the install uses lightDM.
However, that KDE install is on a Machine not available to me until tonight.
I will check that item.
Why do you ask?
Are you having similar problems or know of a solution?

KDE User Bar corrupt

For the first time in years I installed Sabayon KDE from a downloaded ISO. No complaints about the install seemed to have gone fine. Also the KDE Sabayon Desktop is working smoothly. The problem is the Logon Screen. There is a new feature the Logon User Bar Theme. This presents the user with Photo I...

One change, after the Update to Kernel 3.7.xx, & my method of actuating systemd which was via this line in Grub2 no longer worked (but that was OK) I was simply calling init=/usr/lib/systemd/systemd from Grub. Inste...

Follow Up.. Installed Plymouth with Dracut. Configured Dracut on command line and added a reference to the Dracut in the /etc/make.conf to recognize "Plymouth" I saw that the plymouthd at boot but did not present the sabayon theme. Uninstall Plymouth and cleaned up Dracut references. Workaround for ...

Re: Cant't switch to systemd

there is and eselect init module that is changed by the sysvinit? just this? Apparently, I had altered my grub.cfg a few months back with a init=/usr/lib/systemd/systemd ... which worked until the upgrade but then after the upgrade to achieve a systemd boot I eselect sysvinit set systemd && eselect...
