Re: equo upgrade. peek at /boot NO kernel at all?

/boot partition is umounted # mount /boot or add auto option to /boot line in fstab example UUID=05aa7ab3-2dd1-4888-b3c1-91ee4d6f7d44 /boot ext4 defaults, noatime, nodiratime, auto 1 1 Except that the only separate boot partition in existence on my computer is not actually part of sabayon, or (any cu...

equo upgrade. peek at /boot NO kernel at all?[Solved]

Hi, I use a dual boot loader scheme of sorts... I multi-boot several linux distros, installing each distro's boot loader to it's root partition... My MBR is reserved for a manualy maintained grub legacy boot partition. which includes not only manualy edited menu selections to boot from copied kernel...

Re: Music on console (mocp) now needs root permissions???

I should have thought of that. Will try that tonight (when I get to play with the laptop...) But then again I wasn't thinking about the fact that using "sudo mocp" meant that to the mocp process [ "~/.moc" = "/root/.moc" ] is effectively true... I blame CRS syndrome (Can't Remember Shi^H^Htuff) -- D...

Music on console (mocp) now needs root permissions? [Solved]

I don't always listen to my music, and since I multi-boot, I'm not always using Sabayon when I do, so I can't say when it happened that something about "Music On Console" ( mocp ) now requires root or sudo to function... I normally use only equo to install anything but because of an USE flag issue (...

Re: suddenly dri, synaptics, dri2, nvidia: module does not e

First things first. You do I hope realize that If I were to properly thank you for your prompt, detailed, and highly useful reply, I'd probably be accused of "hero worship"... So I guess I'll just say: "I've got my X server back... THANKS!" Failed to load module "dri" (module does not exist, 0) Fail...

suddenly dri, synaptics, dri2, nvidia:does not exist[Solved]

I'm a dedicated multi-distro-booting, startx user, Not because I'm really an expert at either. But I multi-boot so that I'll have at least one spare fully configured distro ready to go when either some system update, or my own stupidity breaks something. I'm a startx user because I strongly dislike ...

Startx user: "konsole --name" in .xinitrc not stable[Solved]

OK I found a work-around for My issue with this. Since the --name option does work properly with those instances of konsole that are initialized from within E17, I moved the two konsole commands from my ~/.xinitrc to a user script which I then defined as a personal launcher with settings>"settings ...

mocp is broken! [Solved]

Back aways I had a problem with mocp not being able to read my music files (all *.wav) Which turned out to have something to do with the use flags on the Entropy version. (As much as possible I use only equo to install/removed/upgrade all my software on my Sabayon installation.) That problem was sol...
