Nicholas: Can you describe how to use xdelta? I have looked at Xdelta but it looks horribly complicated! Xdelta 1 doesn't support files bigger than 2GB, so you have to do a big mess splitting the original file, patching each half, and putting together the two patched chunks. Xdelta 3 supports files...

I dont understand what is wrong with xdelta's. They work just fine for me and its a super fast way of upgrading as it dramaticly cuts down on download times, does not take long to do at all, and does not take up any extra disk space whatever so long as you discard the refuse when your done. It's hard to use jigdo for Sabayon, since the CD/DVD has a huge file with everything inside. Users would have to somehow extract the huge archive into the separate files to be able to do something similar to xdelta (download only what changed).

I tried to create such an xdelta myself, it was around 90% of the size of the original .iso. Not worth the effort. I also tried creating a 3.3 x86 -> 3.3 x86_64 with similar results.
