Re: how to build .tbz2 binary package from source ?

You basically have 2 options that i know of.

1. Build the package in a sandbox and install it within the sandbox and then tar it up.

2. Write an ebuild for the package and use portage to build the binary package with `emerge --buildpkg`

#2 being the proper way to do it in gentoo/sabayon

Re: X fails to start, nVidia- 3.5 Pod

Doesnt the Geforce 4 series require legacy drivers? What nvidia-drivers version do you have installed? Also, have you tried the open source driver "nv" in your xorg.conf to get X up and running?

Re: Live CD won't boot!

Success....using the 'xdriver=nv' cheat (properly  ) loads the DVD to desktop. At this point I've got a perfectly great live system except for the Nvidia 3D acceleration. Something is obviously interfering with it loading on live DVD boot. If I choose to install at this point what are my chan...

Re: Install printer

Is Ubuntu's CUPS properly setup for sharing on your network? or are you using a samba share for some reason? Have you tried adding the printer using the cups web admin page?

Re: Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory

Oh... Okay, then it must be information overload... Hopefully. Why you downloaded an old version in first place - all could of been avoided by getting the correct iso in the first place I don't know how to download it... and I don't want to read anymore "technical stuff". PS. Learning's fine, but I...
