Re: I am seriously thinking about switching

What do you mean update world? through the OS? Yes, a 'world update' is done from within the OS. However, if you do a bit of research you will find it can be challenging procedure. Re: confused with what to download

Until now I have always downloaded and installed the full DVD version of Sabayon. However, this time I tried the mini and I must say I like that much better. It is obviously faster to download, MUCH faster to install and runs a lot faster.

It looks great as a live distro but i could not get it to install on my PC. Kept getting kernel panic at first boot. So here...

Just in case you have a shared partition with Windows (as I have), you should know that they will NOT be hidden to Windows.

Ain't that the truth! It has happened once too often for me and I now use Azureus. It is a lot more bloated than Ktorrent but a LOT more reliable!.

Re: Compiz stops other applications working!

I simply switched to the 32bit sabayon. I had 64-bit for the longest time although my only problem was flash. COmpiz was also, but I cant tell you if your having the same problems as you would with the 32bit. Your best bet it to uninstall and reinstall compiz. Then update python. Just follow this h...

Re: The reason people distro hop

I stopped 'hopping' when I discovered Sabayon (3.2 in my case). Previously I would hop about every three months, for all the reasons stated in the OP. I still like to check out other distros but now only on a Live CD. For me Sabayon meets my requirements perfectly (almost). Things work out of the bo...
