Re: Laptop resets while booting with LiveDVD

Finally got it working:

1. Booting to console mode.
2. rmmod psmouse (optional)
3. X -configure
4. cp /root/xorg.conf.new /etc/X11/xorg.conf
5. systemctl start kdm

Re: Laptop resets while booting with LiveDVD

None of these xdriver options are working. Always black screen. Is there a way to install sabayon via console? Why are older Sabayon LiveDVDs able to start X with vesa and newer ones don't? :x Here is the lspci output: 00:00.0 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] Family 15h (Models 10h-1f...

Re: Laptop resets while booting with LiveDVD

xdriver=vesa leads to a black screen with a white "_" in the upper left corner after X-Server started. I was able to start Sabayon Linux 11 with doing X -configure und replacing the xorg.conf with vesa. So I was able to install Sabayon Linux 11.0. But after all upgrades were made the system doesn't ...

Laptop resets while booting with LiveDVD [Solved]

[email protected], my ASUS Laptop with AMD A10 and Radeon HD8670M performs a reset after X trys to come up. The Laptop is brand new so I guess there is no hardware defekt. Older versions of Sabayon reproduce the exactly same error. I can prevent starting up X so I get a command prompt. The touchpad couln'd be ...

Re: Troubles with init-scripts

eselect bashcomp enable {hostnamectl,journalctl,localectl,loginctl,systemctl,timedatectl}

This doesn't work. I can execute this command but autocompletion doesn't work...

I would expect something like:

systemctl start ss<tap> -> systemctl start sshd.service

Re: Troubles with init-scripts

I would love it if it would work properly. But how do I write start scripts? Why is there no status-output like [OK] while systemctl restart <service>. I hate it to type status every time. Whats the sence of the /etc/init.d/ scripts if they aren't used anymore? Networkmanager doesn't work since last...

Re: Troubles with init-scripts

Oh boys, I hate systemd a little bit more with every day. Is there a posibillity to remove it and go back to the old system where /etc/inid.t/<service> restart works? I think it's called "startup". I heared systemd is optional for Gentoo. So maybe for Sabayon too?

Re: Troubles with init-scripts

Yes i did... Now I hardcoded it in the file where the symlink that gets crated with systemctl points at. That is very ugly I know. How can i do it right?

Does Gentoo use the same crap now too or is this systemctl Sabayon specific?

Re: Troubles with init-scripts

Next question: Where do I change the basedir of atftpd? If I change it in /etc/conf.d/atftpd it is just getting ignored.
