Re: Multiple DE

I got with the issue, there is a config file for the display manager in which I made a typo wrote xdm instead of lxdm DISPLAYMANAGER="lxdm" what make me wonder is that accessing through the sabayon recovery mode a lot of stuff isn't mounted, that's the reason why I couldn't see my home. Is there a ...

Re: Xfce, NetworkManager and passwords

Perhaps it's possible to export the keys from Kwallet and then import them into Seahorse.

Have you tried it with a monthly release? 13.08 perhaps?

Re: Xfce, NetworkManager and passwords

I don't think KDE and XFCE are using the same applet for NetworkManager. You would have to run the right applet to access KWallet. I think I once installed a KDE app in a Gnome environment, and it required KWallet to store passwords. It should be the same for Gnome apps running under KDE, or in this...

Re: xchat removed from repos?

Examples? Given that we handle 13000 packages per architecture, I'm not sure if we should (and have the man power) consider certain packages more "special" than what they are. XChat was a default package in at least one Sabayon iso. Unless default packages are just a random selection of apps, I wou...

I think XFCE4 is using seahorse instead of kwallet. Did you install that?

You can replace it with hexchat.
Is there a blog or something that documents changes like these? It happens quite often in Sabayon and can cause a great deal of inconvenience if it goes unnoticed.

Re: Multiple DE

i use multiple DEs. in almost all the cases, you may install the packages of the DE, using RIGO or equo command, then reboot and acess o your new DE. in Sabayon this is easy, and pratically without conflicts. I tried to install Cinnamon on Sabayon MATE, as well and XFCE4 on a Sabayon Gnome, and it ...

Re: Rigo - authentication method changed?

A little bit of explanation would be appreciated on the concept. It's not that I mind, it's that maybe something has changed and is not correct? I can only agree with that. Things like these should appear in notices. When I saw the systemd notice, I thought that such notices were normal. Rigo isn't...
