Re: modify permissions for a partition sabayon linux;4mounti

Hi Henry, I suspect the problem might be with the ownership/permissions for the mount point. Try running ls -ld /run/media/user/hdfoldername to see who owns the mount point and what the permissions are. You can then use the chown and chmod commands to change the ownership and permissions to somethin...

systemd: auto hibernate after suspend

Hi all, I saw this wiki page and thought I'd try to get the same functionality working with systemd. There seem to be (at least) two ways of doing this. I'll only describe the easiest. Before going into or resuming from suspend, hibernate or hybrid-sleep mode, systemd runs all the scripts in /usr/li...

Re: Black stripe on KDE splash screen

I noticed the same thing, also with a resolution of 1920x1080. I did some digging around in the theme files (located under /usr/share/apps/ksplash/Themes/Sabayon). There are different subdirectories for different resolutions, each with its own background.png file. Presumably the ksplash engine choos...

Re: Locking KDE "freezes" KDE

Hi, I experienced the same kscreenlocker problem even with the Oxygen theme. I also can't find an option/tab/whatever for Exceptions in Systemsettings>Application Appearance> Style > Configure, regardless of what theme I select (I don't have qtcurve installed). Looking at my ~/.xsession-errors thoug...

Re: problem with ATI card [Solved]

Just a quick update. I noticed that since changing the kernel command line, the console framebuffer was very slow to refresh. I did some experimenting with kernel parameters and it seems that it works better to put video=vesafb:ywrap,mtrr:3 back in the kernel parameters. So, edit /etc/default/sabayo...

Re: problem with ATI card

Hi VolvoBirkenstock, did you remember to run grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg after editing /etc/default/grub and /etc/default/sabayon-grub? If you did then GRUB_GFXMODE=auto is probably not the right setting for you. Try replacing that line with: GRUB_GFXMODE=1680x1050,auto This will tell grub...

Re: problem with ATI card

Hi, I had the same problem after installing the ATI drivers. I believe the problem is that grub sets the display resolution to 1024x768 (see the GRUB_GFXMODE setting in /etc/default/grub) and the 'nomodeset' kernel option prevents the kernel from changing that. This means that the console framebuffe...
