How to boot real fast?

When I first installed sabayon, it would load gnome 3 from cold boot in net 47 sec. Now it takes one and a half minutes. It may sound paranoid, but I do need a faster boot as: 1) I have a laptop 2)I want to impress people used to slow boot times of M$ Windows  Well, I have followed the wiki art...

Re: kernel 3.7 out

Looking forward to it. I run crazy for kernel upgrades, just yesterday noticed the release in kernel.org, update repos, searched for sources and was disappointed not to find the 3.7!

I have a 250GB hard drive(not ssd) and it is enough to house sabayon (with many many many... programmes on) and t...

Bluetooth DUN modem

I have a mobile phone (Samsung GT-S3650) which is claimed to be able to function as DUN modem with an app samsung should have provided. I can pair it to my system, and I have also configured it to work as a DUN modem through Gnome System Settings but it doesnt work. How could I do that? Notice that ...

The card is now recognised, I can scan for wireless networks but it will not connect. Wit antix, it worked. What is the matter?

Re: Build custom packages versions

Well, well... Those binary packages are created with portage, with ebuild or emerge --buildpkg foo. Then it is streamed through entropy repos. That is the main idea. If you want to precompile packages just do it with gentoo. Sabayon is great because it lacks the build times. As far as the "DIY distr...

Re: Qt libraries conflict: Can` t start kde apps.[SOLVED]

In the previous message I used that thread as a pastebin (sorry for that). The problem was solved with the great help of people in the irc channel. I had broken my system by mixing entropy with portage without masking packages.
