The problem does not appear in gnome and cinnamon. I do not know about kde, but it happens in mate, too...

However, although it may be a result of my REALLY simple partitioning scheme, btrfs gives me a feel of a "well balanced" filesystem. Its speed is not that awesome (yet), but it feels solid (by that I do not mean stable) and more promising than ext4...8-)

Well, I have just reinstalled, and I am very happy about that, because I had bloated my old installation with so much stuff that I was unable to make it lighter and also because I used a better and simpler partitioning scheme and a btrfs root partition! :mrgreen:
