Re: No mic (even after the wiki), please help!(solved)

I finally solved my problem. I updated the kernel as suggested (and thanks to the wiki it was quite easy) and now the mic is working. As far as I can see, everything is working fine now. Thanks to everyone who tried to help. :D Updating the kernel sounded really scary, but I did it yesterday and it ...

In the Gentoo forum they told me that my problem is the following message I get when i try to update my alsa driver: "configure: error: You have built-in ALSA in your kernel." And one of the guys told me the following: "This means that when your kernel was configured, before compiling, the sound dri...

well, I read those things, and I guess I tried most of them. Did what Berkus said...nothing helps so far... And I don't think the problem is Skype, because my mic doesn't work at all. Tried with Krec and with something else, and there's no voice and no input form it, just noises. I am with Alsa 1.0....

No mic (even after the wiki), please help! [Solved]

Hi, when I tied to use skype I discovered my mic is not working at all. I tried all the things from the wiki, and still nothing. At least I managed to capture music and record it, which I couldn't do before reading the wiki, but this is not enough. I'd really like to be able to use my mic. What skyp...

am, litle update, i tried to force mount both hards without much success. I ran ntfsfix on one of them and then tried to mount it and it says there's no such hard in fstab. Should I manually add it there?
Because the hard is visible in the sabayon start menu, just it's not in the fstab...

I don't quite understand the last quote... So, they think it will be easier to fight linux in pirate coutnry, because people are already used to windows and of course they always can enforce real laws against piracy and make all those users pay for their windows or what? Anyway, i think M$ earns the...

Good idea, but this means all the AdSense powered sites (lol, including mine) will die away. I think Google will never stop its Adsense money-machine, but at least they could offer you to opt-out seeing ads in every session, though that means everybody should be Gmail user and it's not always the ca...

well, i thought something like this could happen, but why does it have to hibernate a hard that has no windows on it? I mean this is just a sepparate hard, it has no windows information on it, just files...

Well, the problem with google fear is not that they are reading our emails, it's that they get too big for their (and our own) good. Better ads are fine, better search is awesome, but i somehow dislike the idea to let google on my computer. As there's no doubt they records everything. Even they admi...
