Open terminal and do:

STEAM_RUNTIME=1 steam
each time if you want to run steam

I got same error

Gentoo forums had the sollution. You have to open terminal and do:

Code: Select all

STEAM_RUNTIME=1 steam
You have to open each time terminal and do this in order to run Steam, do not know other solution

maybe next update will fix this issue

Which desktop can offer more than KDE ? :wink:

I updated steam yesterday trough the Sabayon updates (not Steam updates) and I am unable to boot Steam

Do you have similar problems?

You should try to keep 2 kernels in my opinion

if an upgrade messes up your latest kernel and you can not reboot you still can choose the other one in grub to boot and often make corrections more easy (It helped me out on few occasions)

Thanks, it did not work for some reason, I always ended up in a screen with a cursor hanging.

However found that when I continue pressing F2 the black screen with the cursor would dissapear and I could login without starting X and was able to run su and kernelswitcher

Ok, I managed to do the given link Still got the same error messages but at least the given terminal commands are working. In recovery mode I have no internet connection so I am unable to run kernel switcher to repair the packages as I believe the last update is Nvidia related. which command I must ...

Thanks for your help.

However I am unable to do anything of these.

I am in recovery mode in su and doing nano but have no write permission to any of these files, this is just terrible.
