Re: Updating / Upgrading Sabayon

You have a link???? How to do it??? I checked the downloads, the only thing Sabayon is offering is x86 and AMD64 Intel 64 bit is either x86-64 or EM64T at Gentoo website. However at Gentoo I just found: The AMD line of 64-bit extended processors were released well ahead of Intel's offering. Therefor...

Re: Updating / Upgrading Sabayon

Is there a way of changing your system from 32bit to 64 bit or do I have to do a complete new re-install? I am using Virtualbox often and I am annoyed with the fact that 32 bit kernel only supports 3gb memory and 64bit above 3gb which gives me the possibility to give more available memory to the OS ...

Re: Gnome 3.4 updates screwing up KDE...again!!!

I used Arch for a very short period, I like to go for user friendly allthough I was fond of FreeBSD but since it is using a Linux layer based on Fedora in order to use software written for Linux as FreeBSD almost has no software on it's own it made no sense staying with FreeBSD and Gentoo is a kinda...

Re: Updating / Upgrading Sabayon

I have used Sulfur and removed the old kernels. I think I know what happened. Sulfur offers about 30 different quest additions instead of only showing those needed for my kernel. I did not knew the numbers were referring to the Linux kernels and installed the ones I believed to be the latest version...

Re: Updating / Upgrading Sabayon

I edited the subject because Nvidia did actually not exactly cover the complete problem and this discussion as mentioned above. @ Melodie : I have installed indeed Virtualbox, it is weird an operating system is installing a new kernel if you are installing a certain package if this is true! beside t...

Re: Nvidia

I will read the piece about Switcher, I thought as a rolling release all would be autoupdated/upgrade by itself (I am a noob).

Anyway, the only updates I installed was with the software manager which comes along with Sabayon!

Updating / Upgrading Sabayon [Solved]

I had tried out Sabayon last year .. but when you run in to problems very fast with an operating system it is time to say goodbye but I always liked the slick design and install options delivered on the dvd. However what I hate about a Linux distribution is when it start screaming things like 'out o...
