[HowTo] Displaying packages needed to be updated

The following script works with equo-152 or higher. #!/usr/bin/env bash UPD="$(equo query updates)" UP="$(echo $UPD|cut -d':' -f3)" echo "$UP" packages needed to be updated! I split the command, because equo needs some time for executing. You can embed it into conky for example. Maybe you just want ...

Re: Update Wiki (translators, (non-EN))

@batvink: So we move outdated pages to an archive. Pages, which are really useless will be deleted, after a short rate? For example: Ask at least three (due to the less amount of) admins wether it shall be deleted? Such as proposed on my talk site ? Hi, In French it is very old, it still refers to e...

Re: Sabayon dont start after last update.

It's not the first time with this problem, for me, what can i do to start the system by command line? I had a similar problem some days ago, too. In case you have a legacy graphic card (mine is NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE) the problem is, that your card isn't supported by the recent driver. First thing: ...

[HowTo] Installing a CRAN package

Good evening, I tried to install a R package from the CRAN repository today. For example car . How do I do that? With this tipp I found a solution: $ su # R > install.packages("car") Choose a mirror and install it this way, until there's a proper way to do it. It may be interesting for some Gentoo/S...

Re: no GUI after screen lock

How would I go about trying to find out what is causing the problem. Any help would be appreciated. You can still log on tty (e.g Ctrl+Alt+F3) and sign in there. This way, you're able to use the command line to report in real time (i.e. without rebooting). /var/log/gdm i imagine is the correct loca...

They do. You have to sign up on Bugzilla therefore. Please write down the requested feature in the header as it is common to do so.

Re: Update Wiki (translators, (non-EN))

Oh, yeah, I've got a question about deleting articles in the wiki. Just see my question to Aposteeltje and his reply for details. Are there any rules concerning when to delete an article? Look, Himerge isn't available anymore, neither in entropy nor in portage. Is that a valid reason to delete the a...

Re: Does Rigo display the Sum Total Data of pending updates

Is there somewhere in Rigo where I can see the sum total data of all the updates? It is planned to enable such a functionality in equo-152: [equo] add new command "equo query updates": This command can be used in update-motd scripts for generating system update status information. . Well, it isn't ...
