Re: Sabayon Firewall Question

Also, most modem-routers and wired or wireless routers have some sort of firewall features built right into them. Google your equipment's make and model number just to make sure.

gnome shell

Compliments on the utterly painless and simple upgrade from 5.0 to 5.1. I was just checking out Wolfden's about gnome shell on http://wgo.wolf911.us/?p=275 and I had a few questions since it looks cool. How stable is it and if I install it and find out I don't like the feel of it can you go back to ...

No desktop after latest updates [Solved]

This sounds similar to another problem in this thread http://forum.sabayonlinux.org/viewtopic.php?f=76&t=19215 but I think mine's a little different. I'm running sabayon 5 completely updated. Just before posting this I went ahead and made sure by doing the following equo update The response to this ...

Re: Stable enough for a work computer?

First I'm an unabashed fan of sabayon, it's been my main distro since 3.4. Before that I used Slackware for years. So yes I'm a little biased. I haven't used kde with sabayon 5.0 yet but in the past, sabayon versions 3.4 through 4.2, sabayon kde was always very stable and worked like a charm. I have...

Suggestion for future Live disks

After reading about the Incognito distro in Linux Format a while ago I checked it out. It had a feature that was really kind of cool. The CD was set up with a vm so that if the disk is put into a machine running windows a virtual machine is started and the distro is loaded into a vm. If the disk is ...

Re: Sabayon 5.o LiveCD and Installer do not find any hard drives

If the live-dvd will boot and load Sabayon maybe you could use portato to remove the newer driver and install an older version that you know works?

Re: Hopelessly Lost -Please Help!

I'm not sure this applies to your problem but...After I installed rhythmbox I wasn't getting any sound so I opened pulseaudio volume control and under the configuration tab I set internal audio profile to Digital Stereo (IEC958) output + Analog Stereo Input and Analog Surround 7.1 Output, since I ha...
