Re: Pysol

Hey guys,

do your self a favour and do not alter make.conf. Use package.use.
If you still use SL 4.2, you should hurry to hop to 5. We are almost on 5.2 now

Re: r610 backlight

Hi, check these guys : http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-1072501.html you can read there how to rudimentary change the brightness. If it works, you can bind the command to a shortcut you want to use, except Fn :) To check if you can enable the Fn keys, you could find out if these are ACPI ...

Re: Installing internet with wifi USB Sagem WL5061S ndiswrapper

cool, but still strange :) I have no idea for the LED. For WPA all should be on board. I would use wicd. For that you might do: rc-update add wicd default && rc-update del NetworkManager && /etc/init.d/NetworkManager stop && /etc/init.d/wicd start after that you can lounch the wicd-client, also add w...

Re: Installing internet with wifi USB Sagem WL5061S ndiswrapper

Ahh, i seen no wlan no internet for updating sabayon:) Ok, one good thing. It seems that the b54usb is the right driver. That firmware problem is weird. You can try one thing. Rename the firmware to "isl3887usb", first the one you downloaded and if that doesn't work try it with the original. If that...

Re: Installing internet with wifi USB Sagem WL5061S ndiswrapper

What i could find out is that your wifi stick should be a prism chip. The module you would need is the "p54usb" Also be sure that /lib/firmware/isl3887usb_bare is exsistent. Try to swich of ndiswrapper than modprobe -r p54usb modprobe p54usb than check "dmesg | grep firmware" if firmware is loading,...

Re: Installing internet with wifi USB Sagem WL5061S ndiswrapper

Hi,

for a start give us the output (as root) of:

lsusb
dmesg (after you pluged your stick in)
lsmod

I hope that you dont have to use ndiswrapper.

Re: ATI 4870+5.1Gnome=Movies Freeze

Hi,

to see what driver is used just do "eselect opengl list". Also check driver section in /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Than you know what you use. To use the opensource driver eselect should show the xorg driver (canbe set by eselect opengl set [ ]) and in xorg.conf driver should be set to "radeon"

Re: Installation Issues - Help wanted

There is no PW, use root and than just hit enter. Are you using core cd? I am not sure what you did. But using unetbootin to create a bootable usb pen is very easy and if you use the K or G iso version you will get a X for install.
