Re: Filesystem read-only after equo upgrade

one swap partition is good for both SLs. Two is only waste of space. Comment one swap, maybe it gets confused by two. But still strange.

Re: Filesystem read-only after equo upgrade

hi,

is there a reason for you to have 2x swap? If not choose one.
Did you check the Entropy version (equo --version) before the update? it should be > 0.9.37.x by now. You should be able to check that in a chroot.

Re: Media could not be found - kernel missing the drivers

HI,

to create the bootable usb stick you can use unetbootin. It is very easy to use. http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/

Re: 5.1 Installation on Vaio VGN-AW11M

Hi,

If you think the problem could be the dvd drive, you could try to install it form a usb stick. Unetbootin works good to create those.
Other option could be to do a "hop 5" with your SL 4.2. There is a howto in the wiki.

Re: Equo does not love me anymore :(

Sure, if you can write something than it is not read-only.

--relaxed came up around 5.1 release. It is less dangerous than --nodeps. It just pulls more important deps, not all. In that case e.g. it does not pull gcc.

Re: Equo does not love me anymore :(

hmm.. thats pretty bad. Are you sure your filesystem is not read-only? I just would do a new install, since it just takes 20 minutes. If you want to do that, # equo update && equo install entropy equo --relaxed && equo install entropy should work fine. Be careful with the --nodeps switch. It can lea...

Re: Equo does not love me anymore :(

hi,

what is your entropy version?

Code: Select all

equo --version
Why are you using --nodeps ? fresh install? If entropy version is > 0.19.x just install entropy with

Code: Select all

equo install entropy
Is that giving you the same error?

Re: alsa not working

Hmm... it seems that alsa is calling pulseaudio now. That makes things much more difficult as long pulseaudio makes trouble.

Re: KDE 4.4.1 update - sound issues

hi,

you did the mv pulseaudio hack, right? That issue was also in the IRC channel. So, you are not alone. But until now i don't know how to solve it.

There is a other thread http://forum.sabayon.org/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=19995 with the same problem. The other one is in the right forum. So poste there

Re: trouble installing playonlinux

Why not just using entropy our main package manager?

Code: Select all

equo install playonlinux --ask
