Re: entropy updates too many things

Well fair enough, and for the record I tried the portage one first, it failed So I used entropy, it probably took about the same amount of time anyway, given the lack of compiling and it worked perfectly, and I now have a more up to date system. :-D Yes two different worlds. I appreciate many aspect...

entropy updates too many things [Solved]

Hi all, I would like to know why entropy seems to be so much more eager than portage to download updates to packages that don't seem to be related to the one I want to install. Is it possible to tell entropy to be a bit more conservative? I have poor bandwidth. :-( for example: duet Trunk # equo ins...

Re: fresh install update broke python (file too short)

Ok I

installed python 2.5.4 from sources

downloaded from the main website. After this I still couldn't run emerge or spritz, but I could run

Code: Select all

equo install python
which succeeded and put things back to normal. Spritx and emerge now both working again.

Re: fresh install update broke python (file too short)

I've got this problem now too, and I didn't use portage on this fresh install of 4.0. trouble it seems to have killed the python install totally and so anything wrotten in python doesn't run. this leaves me in the awkward position of not being able to recover the old python using portage, and of cou...

Apologies for the cross post to press releases, but .. is else having trouble getting the torrents downloaded? I've been trying with rtorrent and they keep failing the hash checks. After they've completed rtorrent does a re-hash check and keeps failing with 95% downloaded. It's like there's a bad se...

Re: Sabayon Linux x86/x86-64 3.4 Revision F: Stable Release

Anybody else having trouble getting the torrents downloaded? I've been trying with rtorrent and they keep failing the hash checks. After they've completed rtorrent does a re-hash check and keeps failing with 95% downloaded. It's like there's a bad seed but I don't see why it isn't picked up until th...
