Re: both binary and source based software installer

Because I want to compile some source packages with another USE flags on Sabayon and also want to use binary packages from Sabayon on my Gentoo machine (its another PC) You will be able to install entropy using portage (Sabayon overlay) on your Gentoo machine and, in theory, install Sabayon binary ...

Re: Best iso to install to get both Gnome and KDE [Solved]

I Installed KDE first and have had no trouble adding Gnome and all the other DEs that Sabayon have. I just let entropy handle it all. Thinking back to a little while ago I did have some trouble installing KDE on an old machine so I installed Cinnamon as a starting point and added KDE to that - you s...

Re: both binary and source based software installer

I have to ask; Why do you want to use the binary packages to install from source? Sabayon supports portage as well but it's not a good idea to mix that with entropy unless you know what you're doing.

Re: Silly Question about wine

Now, after you've installed an application through steam, a lot of times there will be a menu entry created for that. If not, then there is a bug. Almost all the installations I've done recently through wine (nothing to do with steam) have failed to create a menu entry. It started for me with the w...

Re: Silly Question about wine

It's not a silly question. :) I believe this is a bug. When you installed the programme did you elect to have a desktop link. It's best to allow all those bits and pieces and remove the ones you don't want later. The only way I could get Picasa to run was directly from the wine directory and then ev...

Re: Accidentlyremoved system tray from KDE panel

Right click on the panel and select "panel options" "add widgets" When the widget panel arrives search for system tray and then double click on it. It should be back again and you can close the widget panel with a "hard to see" cross at the top right hand corner.

Re: Brother Printer

Have you read through this page? http://www.gentoo-wiki.info/HOWTO_Brother_Printer/Scanners If you have the amd64 Gnome then there is a part near the bottom that may help. All the packages mentioned are in entropy so there's no need to use emerge. Although rpm is not the usual method of installation...

Can you boot into recovery mode so that you have a command prompt? If you can there are some thing you can do that may help: As dave_64 said; As root check the output of eselect opengl list and if the asterisk isn't on ati then use the command eselect opengl set ati (If you do that then a reboot sho...

I'm afraid I know nothing about bumblebee and nvidia optimus. :( I think the upstream problem lxnay mentioned was the problem with googleearth.

I can only suggest reinstalling the ati drivers, ati userspace and then amdcccle.
