Re: Sabayon 4.1 and KDE 4.3

KDElibs:
Just double check on kdelibs as the 2000+ found errors (poor coding, dirty code practices / lazy coding) I have reported this weekend in 4.2.4-r4 could cause issues and might not have been fixed in 4.3 yet.

Re: disabling my laptop speaker?

lsmod shows the pcspkr module and you can possibly kill this. modprobe -r pcspkr This usually helps with the beep sounds. Any of the multimedia sound mixer apps should be able to show and mute the pcspkr / sub / normal speakers. You can if using 4.2k or 4.2g you should be able to right click the spe...

Re: Boot Sabayon from Ipod

Any SL 4.* version will work with unetboot. SL 4.2 should be about 1.8gb so total needed is 2gb for unetboot config. I see you have 2 partitions sdc1 sdc2. The first is usually the one that contains a small 8mb or 16mb partition for the windows drivers or apple waist of space partition similar to nt...

Re: Boot Sabayon from Ipod

Exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, iPods has a sector size of 2048 (instead of 512) :( and I have no idea how to change it. grz wolfden! Windows should allow you to fa16 or fat32 the drive, this should be able to get correct sector blocks etc. All you have to do is partition and format ...

Re: Boot Sabayon from Ipod

2gb to 4gb = You should be able to using unetboot + SL iso and Ipod as usb storage device instead of usb pen/stick. I did something similar to my Samsung mobile phone with 4gb memory card and mass storage setting on the phone. Any Os sees it as a usb drive. Should be the same for your Ipod. The 1.8g...

Re: KDE4.2.4: unresponsive when too much memory used

512mb / 1024mb ram you should kill what is not really needed. Make sure you have swap active. Check with df -h and top You can have a fake swap in /tmp if no swap partition but this is a bit confusing to setup if not used to it. You could also try to equo deptest ; equo libtest You will need to get ...
