Re: Desktops - Show Off Your Desktop

@cmost that is a radical anti-KDE ... Is that your Conky from the Ground up? If possible I would like the code. I have seen similar Conkys but that is really clean. Simple, Attractive and effective. I have wandered away to Circles and LUA code but that looks appealing to me. I am always looking for...

Re: Kernel Stuff

I forgot all about kernel-switcher!!! As a former Debian guy, I guess I'm just used to apt pulling in all of the required dependencies automatically. Equo and Sulfur do a great job of this too, but it just didn't happen yet with kernel 3.8. It's not a big deal to go in and grab the modules manually ...

Re: Kernel Stuff

@ svantoviit

I never said I COULD'NT do it; rather I pointed out that doing so is an inconvenience because the behavior is different than with other more stable kernels.

Re: Kernel Stuff

@ Matte88 I'm saying that because when I install a new kernel, I expect that all dependent modulels and proprietary blobs that are associated with that kernel will also be installed. Yes, I know the various blobs and dependencies may in fact be available for the 3.8 kernel, I just don't know for sur...

Re: Kernel Stuff

@ sabayonino Did you guys realize that the kernel 3.8 offered in Limbo only offers to install the kernel itself and none of the dependent (e.g., virtualbox, video drivers, wifi firmware, etc.) that the other kernels currently offer to install as dependencies? This could leave some users with a syste...

oxygen-transparent or bespin window borders not transparent

This one is stumping me. For some reason, the oxygen-transparent window border nor the bespin window border, both of which should be transparent if oxygen-transparent or bespin themes are selected, are not. The oxygen-transparent border is simply an opaque ugly gray while the bespin border has an ug...

Re: Gnome 3.6

Personally, I think Gnome is getting worse with every release. The new Nautilus is not nice; it's dumbed down and missing many of its old features. As for the login and lock screens, it seems these are evidence that the Gnome devs are wasting time on superflous fluff that isn't important to producti...

No Kwin effects with nvidia after last update [Solved]

Strange problem here. I no longer can enable Kwin effects after the latest round of updates and am wondering if anyone can lend a hand troubleshooting. I have the nvidia driver installed correctly, however, I notice when I type eselect opengl list [email protected] ~ $ eselect opengl list Available OpenGL...
