Manny thanks, WarraWarra. Now I've tried all this, and also re-emerged resolvconf-gentoo. Added the static dns-information for eth0 from /etc/conf.d/net right into the base file within the folder /etc/resolvconf/resolvconf.d/ without any success. (on buglist for networkmanager was written something ...

Finally I've got it. Took some additional hours of reading manpages. It's so unbelievable simple. All you have to know is: You don't need any conversion at all, since win2000 uses for its network connections utf8 already. So you'll have to write dos charset = utf8 unix charset = utf8 into your /etc/...

Simply enter them into your /etc/fstab file.

the localmount script within /etc/runlevels/boot should mount anything found in fstab, I think.

Samba share problems with languagecodes [solved]

Hello can anybody give me some advice, how to configure umlauts in samba for data-exchange form sabayon to a win2000 PC via network correctly? sabayon is the client, from which I'd like to access some windows shares. sabayon3.2 and win2000 are configured for local language both: sabayon uses LANG=de...

Intel Microcodeupdate in Sabayon? [solved]

Hello, can anybody please give me a hint how to update this Microcode for Intel-Processors in sabayon? There are some RPM's and Debian-Packages around in the internet, but I didn't get an idea how to do this in Gentoo based Sabayon. This is where I found the recent Intel Microcode for Linux: http://...

...and you expect that some linux hardcore programmers to reverse enginner that binary blob to make a plugin Certainly not. I am not too familiar with the procedures how to integrate something into sabayonlinux, so I didn't realize that it would be that laborious. I am not a programmer... for a for...

This goes for the realplayer as well, I think. The "real"-format is also proprietary shit, and it is in sabayon, anyway. Thompson as the owner of this "pro"-codec doesn't care for some linux-people won't be able to listen to some contents produced with their codec in reasonable quality. The only one...

Thanks for moving this, Wolfden. So magic sysrq is actually not in Sabayon yet. I thought, I hadn't tried the correct keys on the notebook only. If you are going to implement this feature in future, I think it would be great to make it optional via kerneloption ("cheatcode") in the bootloader-config...

Magic sysrequest keys?

Hello people, I wander whether sabayonlinux has compiled in support for the "magic sysrq keys" mentioned here: http://www.developertutorials.com/tutorials/linux/magic-sysrq-050503/page1.html Which key would be the "magic" key? I didn't find any, but maybe I simply didn't find it since this is a note...
