Re: disk boot failure insert system disk

Sabayon is designed to destroy your hardware if you do not install it .... only choice is to install sabayon and you will get your hardware back    I would imagine that when you unplugged the ide drive it was no longer found in bios, so your storage drive became the boot drive. Just g...

Re: "equo update" question

I do not see an issue with your repos, mine is a little different as I use testing and need main ... weekly does not work well with limbo. I just add the main repos, and comment out the weekly. I really think this is the only file you should need to edit to change repos, I would not suggest editing ...

Re: Entropy offered to remove libnl-1.1-r2, now no network!

equo install libnl See if it is re-installed and fixes the problem. equo deptest && equo libtest just to be sure. I also saw same issue on irc #sabayon, wanted to remove same version that was installed. Although in this case it was suggested to manually remove the package, do not think it should be...

Re: Can I choose the Xorg version?

no you cant well you can, but would involve using portage and make your system more complicated to admin. Typically when newer packages are added to entropy, old ones are removed, you will only have one choice. In some cases like kernels and special need packages, multiple versions are available. Ei...

Re: Network Manager stopped working

Although nm has a bug for some people, not starting is not part of the bug, or first time I see this problem. First I would make sure you are fully updated http://wiki.sabayonlinux.org/index.php?title=En:Entropy#Fresh_Install_-_What_to_do.3F Then I would run in a root terminal equo deptest && equo l...

Re: Kernel with support for WLAN card? (RALINK 5390)

I suspect it is not the kernel in this case. If you are fully updated, you would be above the 3.0.04 These are considered minor version bumps and will be included in a normal update. Now grub will continue to show 3.0.0, eselect kernel list will show 3.0.0 But the actual kernel version would be high...

pulseaudio / xbmc

At a loss where to look for the issue, with xbmc that I use as my music player, after a pulseaudio update from limbo a few weeks ago, every time a new song starts, volume jumps to 100% This happened after the update, before that it was fine. It is only xbmc that has this issue, all other sound apps ...

Re: avahi-daemon failed to start - cannot reach desktop

with that error. I would open a terminal and run the command df -h See what it says and post it here if you can. How much space did you give sabayon? It is possible to fill a drive to the point it will not boot. I did this once on a laptop. I only took it to work and used it as a music player with x...
