Re: Problem with packages signatures

sounds like your data base is not fully updated. I would follow this guide and update your system, starting with equo update --force to be sure your db is fully updated, then post back if you still get the error.

Re: Discussion About Upgrade Complaints

1. Don't upgrade anything without testing it first. How would you test the upgrade first without installing it? Don't make wholesale upgrades, upgrade one thing at a time. entropy does not work that way, on a fresh install you would want to update the data base, equo update. Then you would want to ...

Re: How Do You Limit Upgrades To Security And Bug Fixes?

how did you update the kernel? You should use kernel-switcher, it will update all your drivers for you. kernel-switcher --help you see it is a very simple tool to use. kernel-switcher list You see all the available kernels you can install, pick the one you want. kernel-switcher switch <yourchosenker...

Re: Another Sabayon upgrade mess...

Not the nail I am aiming for ... if you get my drift. You posted your frustrations, they are the same as mine ... I am frustrated. I actually advised a friend yesterday to install gentoo or linux mint I can not offer in good faith to a friend to install sabayon. As a old grandpa I can not suggest to...

Re: Trying to run equo update

sys-apps/entropy-0.99.49.21-r2 I would rather see the output of equo --version I would then try equo update --force equo install equo entropy equo upgrade The problem here as I think I read it, when you log in and try to update ... you are getting the error to try again later. Later never comes. I ...

Re: help with KDE

I dod not think this is a kde issue, more like an update issue ... entropy does not care if you are using kde or gnome or lxde. If you install an app, will find all needed dependencies for the app and may include 1/2 of gnome installing the package . May be a good idea to use equo install --ask <pac...

Re: Fresh install and only one CPU seen instead of two

This is interesting, need more info.
I have ran a few older dell work stations with dual cpu and sabayon/kde Did not have a problem.
What sabayon did you install?
If you open a terminal and run "top" without the quotes, do both show up?

Re: How to add new repositories ?

Yes no maybe You will not add repos like you would in a debian system. With sabayon your choices would be what level of stability do you want. Have limbo, for testing main, for packages that are being moved from limbo weekly, these are updated or synced once a week with main .... a few days longer f...

Re: Welcome Back Gentoo-Wiki

I like that gentoo has a official wiki now, not sure what was up and why it did not before? This may be a good opportunity for the old wiki to get cleaned up? What I mean is, if somebody has written a wiki page several years ago, is now outdated ... and in some cases is fine, many cases they need to...
