Extract the archives and copy the contents to the icons folder. Take a look at the other icon sets (of which you know are installed and working) to see how the folder structure is supposed to look or which files are needed. You can open the "index.theme" file with Leafpad (or any text editor).

Open a terminal and type locate icons it should show you where what icon packs are installed. Icons that are available for the whole system (for all users) are usually in /usr/share/icons/ and icons that You install (which then are available only to You) should be in ~/.kde4/share/icons/ . Sorry, i was unclear; i used sabutils from the INSTALLED (damaged) system AFTER running the LiveCD and rebooting. Should i do it from the LiveCD? i just fear the big update before installing sabutils. Or is it installed by default? Do i have to update everything? PS: i sound much more knowledgeable ...

i don't know either why it would pull Firefox as a dependency. :P But about the issue with Arora: i've installed the GTK Theme Switcher (and whatnot) and changed the style there. i don't know if it affected Arora, but mine looks alright (i think): http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x100/amoebios_4m/...
