i know this behaviour from having effects turned _off_. Parts of the desktop would be covered by a "transparent" rectangle. Reading about creating Plasma themes, i discovered that this may be caused by the way some plasmoids are written. (something about size or position)

On KDE it's Magneto that informs of updates and i assume it's universal. Or is there something else for other wm's?

The _distro_ i used before Sabayon was Freespire.


Experiments were pretty much everything that was available and will continue until further notice. Peppermint was the most-recent try-out.

We aren't the only web site to do this, you see this all time. People actually do install IE on linux btw :wink: i know, ads are everywhere and it's much worse on some other forums. And i know about installing IE on Linux (i did too), but.... i just have weird ideas. i'm a bit of an alien to normal...

i know there's AdBlock, but i just re-installed the system and didn't come around to install my usual Firefox add-ons. Well, i had some fun myself, did some libtest (don't remember the command, was recommended in chat) and a "equo --upgrade --ask" (entropy seemed to be working), but still where i left off.
