Re: KDE + Compiz sluggish after running fine for a while

Here's something strange: seeing as how this seems to be panel-related, I had a prod inside all of the items in the top and bottom panels. When I examined the system tray widget, I found, inside system tray settings , some widgets that didn't appear in the system tray (I had been playing around with...

Re: Attention KDE 4.6 Users

Just going back to the single-click mode to enable you to move desktop items around, I also have that occurring. With the mouse action set to double-click, I can only select an item but not drag it around.

Re: KDE + Compiz sluggish after running fine for a while

Yep this is driving me nuts all right... I've tried all combinations of loose binding/indirect rendering, I have fusion-icon, nvidia-settings and nvidia-xconfig, I've tried running Kwin, gone back to Compiz, nothing makes any difference at all. Programs run just fine; but anything panel- or desktop-...

Re: KDE + Compiz sluggish after running fine for a while

Yes I tried the System Activity Monitor when the problem first arose, but it never showed anything loading the CPU up by more than 2%. Looking at the Compiz options, I turned off both indirect rendering and loose binding but there doesn't seem to be any difference - might have to leave it running fo...

Re: KDE + Compiz sluggish after running fine for a while

Yes, I have all of those packages installed, eselect opengl shows nvidia, and I don't have desktop effects enabled any longer (used to, but switching on/off doesn't seem to have any effect).

KDE + Compiz sluggish after running fine for a while

Hi all; I've installed the current version of KDE onto my Acer 5745G laptop. Prior to installing KDE, I had (and still have) Gnome + Compiz on it, with no problems. I do like KDE though as it has FAR more toys in it. However, a problem has popped up now. Over the past day or so, the system will boot...

Re: KDE Widget to display Intel i7 clock speed?

Sorry I might not have been clear: I do have cpufreq util installed, what I was looking for was the Gnome application that displayed the CPU speed in the task bar, and whether that would run under KDE.

Re: Yet another Huawei 3G USB modem problem....

Yes, the results are identical to my original wvdial.conf file, with the exception of /dev/ttyUSB2 vs /dev/ttyUSB0.

Re: KDE Widget to display Intel i7 clock speed?

Yes I think the one I'm looking for is cpufreq but it doesn't seem to be in sulfur.

Yet another Huawei 3G USB modem problem....

I've noticed I'm not alone in having a Huawei modem that used to work, and after something upgraded, having no more 3G access. I have both an E122 and an E1550, but the result is the same - no connection. I've searched the forums and found lots of information, but I still haven't found a solution ye...
