A new keyboard may be more to the point?

If it's a bit old and battered, perhaps you should check the cable and/or connector?

Too bad - one other thing that comes to mind is that since this is a multi-media keyboaard it may require a USB2.0 connection - most USB enabled modern PC's have connectors for both standards try the other connectors because you cannot see the difference unless you have photographic memory of your m...

I would have a look inside the BIOS Setup - possibly check for a BIOS Update? Inside (somewhere) there is usually an option to Enable/Disable USB Legacy Support. I think that's the term, but look around different BIOS's could possibly name it differently. Whatever it is set to - change it and see wh...

Correctly mapping the drives is a possible solution - the easiest way out for you, I believe is to keep your XP on the first bootable disk and re-install Linux and have it put Grub onto the MBR, this will automatically put evrything in one place. The only caveat is that you cannot re-install, or rep...

I checked that link, but I didn't read all of it. It seems Knoppix have come up with a proprietary way of subverting the system limits - and one that requires a boot-floppy that transfers the start-up procedure to the HD copy. This is interesting, but I do NOT think you can make any immediate use of...

No, no, no! This cannot work. The ISO is an actual disc in digital format that is bootable, put it on you HD and it is just another file - there is no way it can boot your machine. I like the question though. Theoretically, if you format that drive as a System Disk and extract the ISO onto the drive...

John, regardless of what other OS's you want to couple in a multi-boot setup, they will all have to be of the same architecture, having any OS of the PPC variety will not succede on an AMD64 unless there's a VM that supports it - in which case it isn't strictly involved in the multi-boot setup. Tony...

Personally, I am on nVidia and I have to use the boot-options when I install. I use - [ res=1280x800 refresh=60 opengl=nvidia ] You could throw in a statement for you keymap if you need that. This is what I use for my Notebook - pick your own resolution and exchange "nvidia" for "ati". Note - look u...

It really does. Mine spent 13 hours at 58%!

But there's a new option - now, what's it called?

I can see the torrent. . .

Hi, my patience is up and running, but I have a rather decent connection, on a good day I can get a stable 1.5 Mb. I just want to ask if I can help any by downloading it now, or if that would only disturb your efforts? I'm off to bed anyway, so wouldn't disturb me.
