Re: How to restore GNOME Desktop to its original settings?

Hi, everybody. I've gone down the same road: I've installed Enlightenment (e16) just for fun, have tested it, have give it up, have removed it and... painfully, I've discovered that Gnome was no more with Metacity. I've tried to reinstall Gnome packages, to configure several config files, but none h...

Re: Openoffice fails creating files on Samba shares [Solved]

The share is on a Windows box. I gave a shot to your tip and tried: echo 0 > /proc/fs/cifs/LinuxExtensionsEnabled but it didn't work, unfortunately. When mounting this kind of CIFS share through Nautilus, OpenOffice is unable to save any file unless it is opened from the share and modified . I'll go...

Re: Openoffice fails creating files on Samba shares [Solved]

The correct parameter in fstab for CIFS is iocharset=utf8 . The CIFS line into /etc/fstab looks like this: //server/share /mnt/localdir cifs nounix,user=myuserid,domain=mydomain,users,rw,uid=mylinuxid,iocharset=utf8 0 0 I agree problem with OpenOffice is solved. But I'm trying to solve this through ...

Re: Openoffice fails creating files on Samba shares

Hi, Fitzcarraldo. Thanks for the reply! ...an Ubuntu bug report: Comment 9 for bug 293548 ? Well, I tried this last one and inserted into /etc/fstab the line code: //server/share /mnt/localdir cifs nounix, user=myuserid, domain=mydomain, users,rw,uid=mylinuxid 0 0 It worked and is indeed a workaround. ...

Openoffice fails creating files on Samba shares [Solved]

Hi, everybody. I found a curious problem and got stuck at it. I'm currently able to browse and open files over a Samba connection flawlessly: via Nautilus I can open AND create AND modify any file on the share mapping. OpenOffice files can be opened directly or via Nautilus without problem. Now, the...

Re: Codeblocks crashes after it's been emerged correctly

Hi, xlnagla

I'm really sorry if I broke any rules.
I only did that because I was not sure what would be the best forum to ask for help on this question.

In fact, I didn't receive any comments on "Software in General", but if you think that's the better choice, I accept it.

Regards,
Marcio.

Re: Crosspost: Codeblocks crashes after it's been emerged...

I've tried to compile codeblocks from source: I downloaded version 8.02, did "./configure ; make ; make install". As soon as I tried to run, I've got the exactly same error. I found a link (http://wiki.codeblocks.org/index.php?title=Installing_Code::Blocks_from_source_on_Gentoo) and realize that it'...

Crosspost: Codeblocks crashes after it's been emerged...

Hi, friends! I'm crossposting this issue here from "Software in general", maybe someone in this forum have had the same problem. I've recently emerged " dev-util/codeblocks-1.0_pre20071215 " on my SL notebook. Apparently, emerge has set up Code::Blocks correctly showing no errors. After that, I've t...

Codeblocks crashes after it's been emerged correctly

Hi, friends! I've recently emerged " dev-util/codeblocks-1.0_pre20071215 " on my SL notebook. Apparently, emerge has set up Code::Blocks correctly showing no errors. After that, I've tried to run Code::Blocks from command line but it crashed after a while. I was able to see the Code::Blocks' logo on...

Re: sandbox error [Solved]

Hi, gaffu!

I had exactly the same problem.
I've tried tips posted by c0nv1ct but it didn't work as well.

I've done, so, exactly what you did and everything goes fine...

By the way, I did a backup of the i686* files, too, just in case.

Tks for the information!

Marcio.
