It has a "Restrore Grub to MBR" feature. If you read the info screens, it'll really walk you through.

glsa-check is what you're looking for. read about it with 'man glsa-check'. Mainly, you're interested in 'glsa-check -l' while looking out for big red [N]'s.

Not really necessary. Just look at the /boot/grub/menu.lst that's on Fedora's partition and copy over Fedora's section into Sabayon's /boot/grub/menu.lst. You _could_ chainload, but it's not necessary. This is the easier way, imo. Of course, you'll have to mount the partition in order to "see" Fedor...

Try the "configuration editor" from the gnome menu (or alt-f2: gconf-editor). Look under /apps/nautilus/desktop.

You could also try unmerging dhcpcd. Perhaps after you updated you did merged all the new etc configurations, instead of inspecting them one by one?
