cannot start X11 on Sony VAIO VPCSB

Dear all, I bought this new Sony Vaio S series laptop VPCSB11FX. It has a dual graphics card, the integrated intel and the AMD Radeon HD 6470M. When I boot from the SabayonAMD64 Gnome 11 , the X11 does not load up. I had the same problem with Sabayon in the past. Do you support ATI Radeon HD 6470 an...

Re: Dell (intel card) and Intel P9700 @ 2.80GHz Nvidia GTX

After the first update the problem with network has been fixed. The problem that remains is that I cannot login from the GDM. I have to press the cancel button instead of the sign-in button and then instead of choosing my username I have to choose: not listed, and then enter my username and password...

valgrind and glibc-debug

Dear all, it has been more than 2 years since I had submitted this bug (it is not a bug, it is a feature). Ubuntu when somebody installs valgrind automatically installs the glibc6 and glibc6-dbg. On Sabayon however this doesn't happen and so: $ aptitude show valgrind Package: valgrind New: yes State...

Re: glibc doesn't compile

Well I tried to do all the above. Here is the output I got (attached). Dear all, this problem keeps emerging again and again and again, don't you think that its time somebody considers of providing such a version of the glibc library in the entropy? Moreover, I know this is a Gentoo problem, but it ...

Re: glibc doesn't compile

please install Ubuntu or a Debian based distro and see for your self. See the output of valgrind and please stop posting if you have no idea what we are talking about. You cause Sabayon a bad name. If I did not respect the people behind of Sabayon, I would be really discouraged to keep using it, if ...

Re: glibc doesn't compile

Please read again the message. You did not understand what it is talking about. It is annoying when people say crap because they did not read the message well. I paste it for you here. We are interested in the first one of the suggested solutions. And this is what Ubuntu does. There will not be perf...
