Re: Desktops - Show Off Your Desktop

This looks a little dated after dunsurfin's great KDE 4.2 desktop shots, but here is the little portable media box I made out of a HP DV2312us laptop I had laying around. Running Sabayon 3.5.1 (resized from 1280x800).

How To : XBMC in Sabayon 3.5.1

I've been an XBMC user for years. I have an old modded xbox and a Suse driven file server put together from old parts (built it long before I found out about Sabayon) that stores my music and movies/vids, hooked to my TV as a media center. Once I found out that XBMC was built for Linux, I waited pat...

Re: Desktops - Show Off Your Desktop

I broke down and installed 3.5 a couple of weeks ago. I know I'm way behind the times, but 3.4f was working great for me. I had a couple of days off of work so I decided to format & try out some other distros...That lasted about a day before I installed Sabayon again. :D Anyway...Here is a shot of m...

Re: "When Linux goes bad: the e1000e Ethernet bug"

Reminds me of the bug a release of Mandrake Linux had years ago (yes, I'm showing my age I said "Mandrake" not "Mandriva") that if I remember correctly would cause physical damage to certain LG CD-ROM drives.

Re: Sabayon on USB Stick: Size?

Actually, I wasn't sure what option he wanted, but I pointed him that way since it's the only way he'll get it to work with a 2 gig USB stick. :D

You could make a live USB boot using the mini edition. A 2gb USB stick will be fine. I installed it on a 1 gig using This tutorial: http://www.sabayonlinux.org/forum/viewt ... ?=&p=32926

Re: Kooldock launch at startup

If I remember right, KDE defaults to booting to the previous session which doesn't remember kooldock. I could never get kooldock to work in the autostart folder although I have other things I put in there that work fine. How I got kooldock to start on boot was: Launch kcontrol go to KDE Components/S...

Can't find the live USB tutorial anymore

Quite some time ago on this forum there was a great tutorial to create a bootable liveUSB from the sabayon liveCD. I still have one of my USB sticks set up with 3.3 but would like to make a new one. The old post was here (from my bookmarks): http://www.sabayonlinux.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3008 . I...
