Re: Sabayon may be turn discontinued?

Sabayon has been the sanest and most reliable 'nix that I've had the good fortune to run. It is a consistently great distro, helmed by talented people who genuinely give a fuck. Although many, myself included, have taken from the community far more than we've given, please don't mistake the silence ...

Re: Netflix desktop for Sabayon?

Although it doesn't address the Pipelight or Netflix Desktop issues, using Chrome Beta (available via portage) with a modified Chrome User Agent Switcher handles Netflix quite well without having to mess with Wine or Pipelight. Walk-through and working UA string settings: http://www.omgubuntu.co.u...

Re: Kernel 3.14 boot & graphics problems.

I saw a similar issue with the original 3.14 kernel.

3.14-r1 seems to have resolved it.

Re: Skype - no sound problem (the never ending story)

FWIW: I've found using the previously suggested method of starting Skype in terminal (as user) with PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=30 skype AND making sure that the analog sound device is selected for both output and input in sound preferences gets it working properly. In my case, PulseAudio seems to want to de...

Re: Package managers won't launch [Solved]

FWIW: I ran into exactly the same problem after an attempted upgrade to kernel 3.6 went off the rails, leaving the system with network, Xorg-server and python issues. For some reason -- in my defence, it was very late and I was horribly under-caffeinated -- I chose to unmask Python-3.2.3 and run pyt...

The GdkPixbuf warning makes me wonder whether you're affected by the issue that Joost mentioned earlier today--> https://www.sabayon.org/article/missing ... r-problems

Re: Skype refuses to connect

K, that seems to have fixed it here. (Had to go into options after successful login and select correct input/output audio devices -- skype kinda freaked out a little when selecting audio options, but did eventually get in and saved.) Changed desktop icon command to read: /bin/sh -c "PULSE_SERVER=127...

Hmmmmm ... same issue here.

Gnome (Cinnamon) 64 @ linux-sabayon-3.2-r2

Reinstalled pulseaudio via emerge (pulled in libatomic also), equo rescue spmsync & reboot ... nada.
