How to have x-lite working on a 64bit Linux box

X-Lite is perhaps the most popular SIP softphone. It is free but not open source. Yes, there are open source replacements like Ekiga or Wengophone and others, but X-Lite is lot better than them! X-Lite can be freely downloaded for Windoz, Machintosk and Linux here: http://counterpath.com/x-lite.htm...

Re: equo ,sulfur -> bad marshal data

Ciao Fabio, I'm honored to get help directly from you! What do you mean with hardware instabilities? Yesterday the only thing I did was emerging entropy, equo and sulfur but, after that, they were not working as before. I did nothing more, I did not reinstalled python. Today, just after logging in, ...

equo, sulfur -> bad marshal data [Solved]

One week ago or so sulfur updated 790 packages (and downloaded 3.8GB!!!). My system did not have any problems until now that I noticed that the update applet shows as a wrong way street sign. Sulfur was not loading so I tried equo and these are the results: # equo Traceback (most recent call last): ...

Re: Live DVD soundtrack suggestion

Yeah, I perfectly understand!
I can imagine...
All the times you are about to close a release you find wrong things here and there, so you do the modification and when you think it's done, you find something else and recycle the process over and over!

Re: Replicating an existing PC into a new one (with SL)

I personally did some backups on tape /dev/mt0 or similar... I do not want to clone. Suppose 1st PC runs SL4.2, on the 2nd one (different hardware so cloning would have problems) I want to install SL5, so alto SO is different. If I had a list of the installed packages (both Portage and Entropy)on th...

Replicating an existing PC into a new one (with SL)

Suppose you have a PC with all you need installed and that you want to replicate all the packages on a new one.... Ok, for the environment I simply backup my home directory (actually it is on a different disk) so it's very easy to do. But what about packages? Is there a way to have all them reinstal...

Re: Live DVD soundtrack suggestion

Hello wolfden I respect you so much, the last thing I would do is go polemics with you!
The icy word was because the result of your post in this tread was to freeze it completely.
Probably that was not your intention!!!
But unfortunately this was the result...

Ciao.

Re: Live DVD soundtrack suggestion

Seems like that you all are afraid of having a different opinion, after Wolfden's icy message, nobody replied any more!
After all it's just his opinion...
Don't be afraid, do as Sabayon splash suggests:

Re: Problem with installation of joomla on sabayon

Yes, it is a problem with Joomla itself. I saw that problem some months ago on a Debian machine. I can't remember what I did to fix it, for sure I remember the suggested actions did not work! On my SL4.2 I installed it just for testing some stuff and it worked out of the box! It seems you need to cl...
