It's pretty much as I described above. Go through all of the diagnostic steps I showed. If you get one that shows it doesn't match, that's where your problem is.

Oooh... I had always sort of wondered how to install an individual (downloaded) package, rather than simply grabbing it out of the repositories. Already I learned something.

Is there any way, just using equo, to revert to an older version of a package? Specifically, I recently did an upgrade that included www-client/google-chrome going to version 66.0.3359.117. A-ha! Apparently, iptables was to blame here.

No matter what else was modified, it also needed

Code: Select all

# iptables -F
to make it work.
