Re: Opera and x264

Looks possible... Not sure on what steps that is needed to install it. Done some reading about emerge/layman and stuff. Since I already have Chrome for compability reasons with Tidal for example, I could just as well use it for Youtube too ;-) Still would be nice to know what I need to do to install...

Opera and x264

I googled about this some time and did not really find a good solution that makes Opera work with that codec. What would be the best way to fix this? The problem is that more and more Youtube videos refuses to play.

A few issues with apps in a fresh install of 19.03

I'm back with Sabayon again :) The first issue was with creating the bootable iso file from Ubuntu. That was solved with Etcher since some other solutions does not seem to make it right... It booted halfway with errors. Solution was found here by the way :) I might add more app issues here later. I'...

Debug Nvidia graphics drivers

They ask us to run "startx -- -logverbose 6" to provide the maximum amount of info. The problem is that I can't figure out exactly what I need to do. I can't simply killall x and use the command. Seems like I need to modify the boot up some how...

Re: Display does not wake up

I only have Displayport and HDMI options on the screen. I hoped to get some Sabayon users input on Nvidia/Displayport functionality on a fully updated system (using latest Nvidia driver released i Sabayon repo). Seeing this happen on many cards would make me happier than if it would work for everyon...

Display does not wake up

I sold my AMD card and went for internal graphics for some time... All worked fine with both. Now I switched to Nvidia and is using the built in nvidia-driver rather than the opensource version that my 2 previous graphics has used. After screen has reached timeout and gone black it does not wake up ...

Re: AMD 290X and 4k screen (displayport)

I've found out that disabling the freesync support in the screen fixes the flickering issues even in the login screen

Re: AMD 290X and 4k screen (displayport)

Same flicker on login screen. Haven't tried to fix that yet since I guess I need to do that manually in a configuration file (separate resolution settings).

AMD 290X and 4k screen (displayport)

1. Screen flickers a lot at 4k. 2. Switch to lower resolution. 3. Switch back to 4k and now without flicker :) Not sure the reason behind this. I have a Samsung UE590, 4k 60Hz, freesync supported screen with DP. What I do know is that this is not a Sabayon limited issue. Ubuntu has the same issue (a...
