Re: I need a fully working system: can Sabayon be my disto?

maccabbeo, I think it's great that you seek to resolve these things with Sabayon -- trying to make Sabayon better, helping other users, and so forth. I don't think I'd be willing to try so hard, or to even complain much. If I had these issues with Sabayon (mounting an iPhone 4, issues with the print...

Re: How long have you had your Sabayon install running?

I had an installation going from June 2012 thru July 2013, then had to reinstall after not being able to boot into the system following an upgrade. There may have been a way to fix it but I gave up trying and went with a fresh installation. So my current installation dates from late July 2013. Using...

Re: SABAYON IS WASTE OF TIME AND EFFORT - IN MY CASE - GOODB

I'm no expert with Sabayon (or with Gentoo). Hasn't always been smooth-sailing, but I've had Sabayon running here since June 2012 without seeing these kinds of problems. It might be worth it to you stick with it for awhile, but that's up to you, of course.

Re: filesystem ... does not contain valid init=/sbin/init

Try "real_init=/usr/lib/systemd/systemd" im my systems, changing the boot lines of ALL BOOTABLE KERNELS in the /boot/grub/grub.cfg file, to: "real_init=/usr/lib/systemd/systemd" solve the issues and the system boots, using systemd. Thank you both; this worked for me, too. I had just about given up ...

Re: can't mount flash drives

Well, if I reboot and then open Dolphin (instead of SpaceFM) and insert a flash drive, the flash drive does not automount. If I click on the flash drive under Devices in Dolphin, I get the following message: An error occurred while accessing '3.8 GiB Removable Media', the system responded: An unspec...

Re: can't mount flash drives

Still haven't found a fix for this. I did this installation from Sabayon_Linux_13.04_x86_KDE back in July 2013 when an upgrade left me unable to boot into the system; I've been doing the upgrades weekly since then. Similar issue mentioned here: https://forum.sabayon.org/viewtopic.php?f=86&t=31506&p=...

can't mount flash drives

Noticed this today -- I think it started after the latest sabayon-weekly updates. When trying to mount a flash drive (using SpaceFM), I get the following message: Error mounting /dev/sdb1: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.UDisks2.Error.NotAuthorizedCanObtain: Not authorized to perform operation I am unab...

Re: disable magneto update notifier?

Thank you. I'm using KDE. I removed the magneto.desktop file from /etc/xdg/autostart. I think that should take care of it. Previously, I thought it would be in one of the following files, but didn't see it: ~/.kde4/Autostart ~/.kde4/share/autostart ~/.config/autostart ~/.local/share/autostart Edit: ...
